The Implementation Expansion

Couple of weeks ago, I was surfing through the internet and this term crossed my newsfeed, “The Implementation Expansion”.

I don’t actually remember who used this term at that time but it touched me somehow. So, I wrote it down to research on it later. Earlier this morning, the term hit my mind and I decided to learn about it further. So, I googled it and found that, unfortunately, such term doesn’t exist at all. The person who used it probably have made it by his own learning.

Anyways, I decided to put into words what my mind tells me about what this term could possibly mean.

We all want to be a better version of ourselves. For which we study other people, or mostly listen to their opinions and their teachings, who we think are better people and lights of the society. They tell us some rules to follow, they motivate us, they teach us how to be a better version of ourselves. What we do is we store that information, that inspiration in our minds and forget about it. And move on to gather new information. Instead, what we should have been doing is to apply all that information and inspiration in our practical lives. We should EXPAND the implementation in our lives instead of gathering tons of information in our minds.

I, personally, admire many of the innovators and inspirational speakers. And I keep on watching their podcasts, keep on reading their books and articles about self development. I rarely apply those rules into my practical life. So, what implementation expansion means to me is, “Enlarging the circle of application of our knowledge into our practical lives”.

We should apply at least 30% of what we learn or what inspirations we get from other people and their works to make our learning worthy.

“Ideas are worth nothing unless backed by application. The smallest of implementations is always worth more than the grandest of intentions.” [Robin Sharma in The 5AM Club book]
